The Independent Labour Party and Spain

Ambulance bought by the Independent Labour Party for 250 pounds (about £12,000 today) and sent to the POUM militia. Named after presumed dead POUM leader Joaquim Maurin, in fact languishing in Francoist prison under a false identity. The ambulance left Clapham for Barcelona on 27 September 1936. Used on Huesca front.
